Privacy Policy

/ Le Grillon Banana Cafe Ltd

This policy explains how Banana Beach Club, operated by Le Grillon Banana Cafe Ltd ("we", "us"), collects and uses your personal data when you register for and use our membership and venue-access service. We handle your data in line with the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017 and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.

Who we are

Le Grillon Banana Cafe Ltd, Royal Road, Grand Bay, Mauritius. For any privacy request or question, contact us at banana@intnet.mu.

What we collect

Your name, email address, phone number and a password; a photo (selfie) you provide for identity confirmation at the door; your membership status and approval history; entry (door-scan) records; and table-booking records for The Grill. We also keep a security audit log of administrative actions.

Why we use it & our lawful basis

We process your data to create and manage your membership, to confirm your identity and control entry to our venues, to manage restaurant bookings, and to keep our premises and members secure. Our lawful bases are your consent (given at registration, including for the selfie) and our legitimate interest in operating secure access control. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Your rights).

Photos

Your selfie is stored encrypted and is shown only to authorised staff to confirm it is you at the door. It is never published or shared for any other purpose.

How long we keep it

We retain membership and access records for up to 10 years to support security, safety and our legitimate business interests, after which they are deleted or anonymised. If you ask us to erase your data sooner, we anonymise your record so it can no longer identify you.

Who can see it

Access is restricted to authorised Banana Beach Club staff according to their role. We do not sell your data. Data is hosted on our managed infrastructure in support of this service.

Your rights

You may request access to your data, correct it, ask for its erasure, or withdraw your consent. Members can update their details and photo, and change their email or password, from the Settings area of the app. To exercise any right, email banana@intnet.mu. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Office of Mauritius.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; the current version always appears on this page.
